QM Villa – Garden design project

The garden has a triangular shape, running alongside a main road on the front, with the railway on one side. The project completely redesigns the layout of the garden, closing towards the road with a dense thicket of trees and shrubs. A secret garden was thus created, looking impenetrable from the outside. The sound of the water flowing in the pond suggests a place of peace for the senses inside. Entering from the driveway, accompanied by a flowerbed of perennial herbaceous plants and grasses, you walk along the patch of shrubs that integrates some of the pre-existing trees and reach an arch of roses, the entrance to the secret garden.

Inside, as in a clearing in the middle of the woods, a body of water reflects the sky. Native trees and shrubs produce flowers and fruits throughout the seasons, and light up with warm colors in autumn. At the back of the villa, an orchard, a pergola and a circular retreat were designed, harmoniously repositioning some of the existing plants. A little-used area has thus been transformed into one of the most pleasant corners of the garden, reachable via a pre-existing and redeveloped kiwi pergola.
